Ex. cranium (skull), the ilium (pelvis),sternum and the rib cage. The flat bones are: the occipital, parietal, frontal, nasal, lacrimal, vomer, hip bone (coxal bone), sternum, ribs, and scapulae.
Ex. the tibia, fibula, femur, metatarsals, and phalanges) and bones in the upper limbs (the humerus, radius, ulna, metacarpals, and phalanges.
Ex. Collarbone: a long bone that serves as a strut between the shoulder blade and the sternum or breastbone. There are two clavicles, one on the left and one on the right. The clavicle is the only long bone in the body that lies horizontally.
Ex. the shoulder blade: It connects the humerus bone of the arm to the collarbone.
Ex. The breastbone, chest.
Thoracic Spine (T1-T12)
Ex. the upper- and middle-back, it joins the cervical spine and extends down about five inches past the bottom of the shoulder blades, where it connects with the lumbar spine. The thoracic spine is made up of twelve vertebrae, labeled T1-T12.
Ex. the leg bone located on the lateral side of the tibia, with which it is connected above and below. It is the smaller of the two bones, and, in proportion to its length, the slenderest of all the long bones.
Ex. a long muscle in the neck that rotates the neck and flex the head.
Triceps Brachii (muscle)
Ex. the muscles located in each of the upper-arms of the human body which helps extend the elbow.
Latissimus Dorsi (muscle)
Ex. broad superficial muscles that extend across much of the back and around the sides of the upper-torso.
Rectus Femoris (muscle)
Ex. among the quadriceps muscles located in the upper anterior (anterior = 'front') of each of the legs of the human body.
Biceps Femoris (muscle)
Ex. a pair of muscles located in each of the posterior upper-legs of the human body, also known as the "hamstrings".
Ex. a large flat superficial triangular muscle covering the back of the neck and shoulder.
Ex. sometimes called the deltoideus muscles, are thick triangular muscles that cover the shoulder joints. There is one deltoid muscle over each shoulder joint.
Ex. flat triangular muscles located in the groin area at the front (anterior) of each side of the body. There is one iliacus muscle at the top of each leg.
